Responsible Coaching

US Youth Soccer has partnered with Liberty Mutual Insurance to bring the youth soccer community Responsible SportsTM, a program dedicated to championing and celebrating responsibility in youth sports. We believe that some of the most influential individuals in young people's lives are parents and youth sports coaches. Responsible Sports provides valuable resources and expert advice to youth sport coaches. Visit ResponsibleSports.com to find out how to further improve upon their commitment to being a positive role model in the lives of youth athletes.

The youth soccer community, including coaches, parents, administrators and volunteers, is encouraged to visit ResponsibleSports.com, where they will find coaching resources, helpful tips, expert advice and community spaces to share ideas and opinions. Coaches can participate in the Responsible Coaching material and become recognized as a Responsible Sports All-Star.

Responsible Sports Community Grants
US Youth Soccers very own Rio Rancho Soccer Club from Rio Rancho, New Mexico earned a grant earlier this year.  "We will use the funds to invest in soccer equipment and infrastructure to improve the quality of the soccer and to have a positive, lasting impact on the kids for several years," said Rio Rancho administrator Matt Geisel.  "We will look at things like goals, nets, training gear and perhaps a storage container."

Heres how to help your organization earn a $2,500 Community Grant

Administrators:

Be sure your club or league is registered. Search for your league or club at ResponsibleSports.com. If your organization is not listed, registering is easy!

Coaches:

Complete the Responsible Coaching coursework and pass the ten-question quiz to receive your All-Star Certification. Then, follow the instructions to credit your certification to your soccer organization to get them one point closer to earning a $2,500 grant.

  1. Administrators can go to Responsible Sports to register your organization
  2. Have parents and supporters complete the brief review quiz
  3. Make sure they credit your organization
  4. Have your parents and supporters verify their credit in the follow-up email
  5. Rally your clubs supporters to do the same!

Remember, the more people that participate in the program, the better your chances are of earning a Responsible Sports Community Grant! Learn more. >>
